How to Draw Cars and Trucks The Right Way.
If you want to learn how to draw cars and trucks then you must have a little patience and take baby steps during the process. That is because so many people try to draw everything at once with no semblance of order, which often leaves a drawing that looks like a kid drew it rather than an adult. I suppose that could be a good thing if that’s the style you want — but most people that want to learn how to draw a car don’t really prefer a ‘picaso-esque’ sports car, now do they? 
The first thing that you should do when you want to know how to draw cars and trucks is to think in basic shapes. Rather than thinking of the whole vehicle, try thinking of the vehicle in basic shapes, such as a square, a circle and a rectangle.
Once you have outlined what will really appear to be a box with wheels, you are ready for the next step in how to draw cars and trucks. Don’t forget to use a pencil and make sure that you use light strokes during the process. You can always come back in later for bolder strokes and shading. The next thing that you want to do is to add some curves to your basic shapes. Use a model or picture of the vehicle that you want to draw to determine the shape of the windshield (do you need to add curves?), the wheel wells, etc.
The next step in how to draw cars and trucks is to make the doors and add the details such as a door handle. You don’t have to get to intricate here, just get the basic shape of the door and the position of the handles and you should be good to go. If you want to add a detail such as a racing stripe on the side, you will do that now as well. Now you are reaching the part of how to draw cars and trucks that will make the vehicle more recognizable. Add the headlights (just a circle here, but for a 3d feel, try drawing a second circle around it), the grill and the hood lines.
The last step in how to draw cars and trucks is to shade the vehicle. This is where some people go a little crazy and show their inexperience with how to draw cars and trucks… because they try to color everything in. The key to making your car or truck look real is to minimize the shading. Look at your vehicle and determine where shading will help it look three dimensional rather than two dimensional — you do this well enough and you will have a drawing to be proud of.
